Thank you to the person in Elon, North Carolina who purchased this print. Baynes Store is very special to me as my great-grandparents lived close by and I went there as a child. I hope you will enjoy this print for many years to come.

I wonder why it's not exhibited in the *Crystal Bridges art museum in Bentonville? *It's owned by one of the Walmart siblings! ;-) Seriously though it is a great nostalgic shot & I would be pleased to display it.

I love this place! I spent every Sunday afternoon here buying drinks and candy from Mr. Coot that owned it. It's still open and I still go there, proudly.

Benanne Stiens replied:

Hi Joanna, I bet you know some of my family members if you grew up near Bayne's Store. My mother was a Miles and my great grandparents had a tobacco farm just down the road on 119. My great uncle also had a tobacco farm on Bayne's Store Road.

This still exists. It don't in cities, but in small towns on back roads all over central California I see General stores a lot. Ther are a slice of classic Americn heritage.
